Occasionally, when I turn the ignition key to start the car, nothing happens. The dashboard lights up as normal but the engine wont turn...it's as if the immobiliser is refusing to let me start the engine.

Normally I get back out the car and re-set the alarm then get back in and try again. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and so i have to get out and try again.

I've always managed to get the car started within a minute or two but it does worry me that one day it may not start at all.

Has anyone else experienced similar or have any idea what is causing it.

I've got to say i think this forum is great and i wish I'd discovered it 3 years ago when I first bought the car. Back then the only help I could get was from a huge German Pluriel owners website which looked fantastic but i couldnt understand a word of it...I enjoyed the pictures though and it was through that site that I was able to get a driveable emergency rain cover.

For all it's faults, I love the car and it was beside me through a divorce and helped me move stuff out of the old house and then move into my new one...people wouldn't believe what I managed to transport in that car.

do you have the sensodrive ?

if so check the gear indicator if the battery voltage is a little too low (12V or under) it doesn't allow the gearbox to sync correctly and you wont be able to start
