hello, has anyone else had dashboard electrical problems?

i bought an 03 1.9d in feb for 3,300. 72,000 miles on the clock. love it!!
but recently things have started to go wrong, airbag light stays on, stop light and oil lights never come on, indicator problems if i turn right; the indicatior then switches to the left instead of switching off, also the service countdown drop 50 miles every two days even if the car hasnt been driven.

anyone else had these kinds of problems?

cheers ruttager

Several people here have had indicator stalk problems I believe, and I have had electrical problems - horn not working, wipetrs not working or rear screen wash coming on when I used the front screen wash etc. With ours it was due to faulty Comms 2000 units (replaced twice) which controls the electrics. Theese are pricey but both of ours were replaced under warranty.

Under the front seat there is a small smap plug connector for the wires to and from airbag light - this connection is rubbish - replace with normal snap connectors - works ok.
