I would like to remove the sump on my 2006 2ltr Relay (DW10TD) but I can't get the dipstick tube out of the sump. I've looked service.citroen and it looks like it just pulls out (once the screw is removed of course). Mine will turn in the hole but I can't pull it out of the sump even using a bit or leverage. I obviously don't want to risk damaging or breaking anything so can anyone confirm if it should just pull out or do I need to do something else?

I would be tempted to leave the dip stick tube still attached to the sump. There will be a seal somewhere so maybe that is making it hard to remove. Inside the sump the tube may extend further to allow oil to be sucked out rather than drained. The Haynes manual for the C5 covers the version of this engine used in the C5 and the sump/block joint uses sealant rather than a gasket and the sump bolts should be tightened to 16 Nm.
