Hello all.

An elderly relative has a C5 2.2 HDI (2002) which he has had from new.

The cushion on the seat base has collapsed to the point of being largely useless. An upholsterer said it would be moulded and not repairable unless we got a new pad from Citroen at £447. Part 00008860EC.

Does anyone know of an upholsterer familiar with C5s or if there is a more cost effective option for the seat base, please?

Can a passenger seat cushion be used instead or are they different?

As an aside, the factory seat cushion collapsed and was replaced by Citroen under warranty before 18 months old, along with a door card and steering wheel. The replacements still look much better.

You could get a second hand cushion. You could try coastline taxis in South Shields since they do a lot of work on C5s and may have parts available. If you phone them try asking for the workshop.

You might also want to check if the seat frame is in one piece since the welds underneath have been known to fail.
