You could check if the immobiliser is recognising the key - with the key in the ignition and the engine off, open the driver's door and if it does not give a key left in message when it previously did, then the key is not being recognised. Try the spare key to see if that makes any difference. Failing this you might need to use a dealer to do a diagnostic but if you are in the RAC, etc they might do this if you call them out.

Any ideas on this my van was running mint parked at home couple hours came out to start it trys fires starts but not run evenly an cuts out straight away coming up with ecu not sending correct code to bsi for immobiliser thanx in advance for any help

hi Paul it makes sense to keep this in one place. Just a thought, previous and susequent versions of the C4 picasso have fuses for mirrors and windows. Strangely, the passenger window is still working. It looks as if I'll have to spend some serious money at the citroen main dealer.

If there is not a separate fuse then possibly the switch, its connection or the wiring may be at fault. You could check the wires where they go between the door and pillar. Do the window switches on the other doors still work ?

You could check the battery voltage, should be about 12.7 volts before the first start, below about 12.5 volts and it needs charging. For a diagnostic you really need one using Citroen's equipment to be able to check everything. When it will not start is the engine turning over, any other details, if you open the driver's door with the key still in the ignition do you get a warning showing the immobiliser is recognising the key ?

Hi all, having a problem with my c4 spacetouret, every so often go to start my car and it won't start, battery light comes on but seems lots of life in battery as it keeps trying to start, but then I leave it for a few hrs try again and it starts.had a mechanic put his diagnostic on it and didn't show anything, it's had us baffled

Thank you for posting this. On our C5 I had to replace a remote battery since it was not always working to lock/unlock the doors. The old battery was quite old and still had the full voltage when checked but the fault has not happened again. I also find if the spare remote is not used for a while it loses initialisation but using its buttons a lot in conjunction with the other remote it will then work without having to initialise again.

Hi guys, I have a C1 and the clutch has gone. I was about to remove the gearbox to replace the clutch when I noticed an oil leak from the gearbox. At first I thought it was the rear main oil seal leaking but upon closer inspection it smells like gearbox oil and behind the flywheel looks dry so have ruled that out. I can see a lot of oil inside the gearbox bell housing which I presume has leaked out of the input shaft seal onto the clutch. has anyone else encountered this problem ? Is it a common issue? I’m struggling to find any information online and track down the correct seal. Citroen haven’t been particularly helpful. Im trying to avoid removing the gearbox and killing my ramp until I have the correct seal ready to go. any advice would be appreciated. many thanks, Quentin

Hi everyone I have a c3 flair which i love. A corner of the back passenger air bump has started to come away. I contacted the Citroen dealership where I got it as surely this shouldn't happen? Their response was the only thing they can do is replace the whole panel which costs £250 which seems a lot considering if its happened to one panel it could happen to others and I am not happy paying so much when I haven't done anything! I am not car savy, I am disabled and clueless and have no one to help me so please can one of you lovely people advise me? Do i just replace the whole panel or would some kind of bonding work? Recently bought a nice C3 2006 but it had the dreaded plip message. Crazy because my remote worked perfectly even from 30 yards or so. My conclusion was that the battery had been renewed sometime earlier by the previous owner but not reinintialised. After many frustrating attempts to get rid of the plip message I finally decided to put a brand new battery (CR 1260 Duracel cost €4) in the key case. Guess what? It worked first time. Turn the ignition on, press the button for 10s +, take the key out and start up again... bingo. It works, just like it says on the tin!

I do not have access to parts diagrams but maybe you need a new part/pipe/seal if you have a fuel leak. This will most likely need a visit to a Citroen dealer.
